About the Author: Alan Mars qualified as a teacher of the Alexander Technique in 1982. During his training he specialised in the use of the voice in speaking and singing. He taught Alexander Technique and voicework at the Arts Educational drama school from 1985 till 1994. He has also taught at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Royal College of Music. Alan is an NLP practitioner and is actively involved in the training of NLP Master Practitioners and Trainers. He has been a regular and much loved speaker at the UK ANLP conferences for many years.
In addition to the above, Alan is a black belt Aikido instructor. He specialises in a blend of Alexander Technique, Aikido centring techniques and voicework applied to the field of presentation and communication skills. Alan has taught these techniques extensively within the private and public sectors teaching clients from Abbey National, General Electric, Cadbury's, Sainsbury's, the Metropolitan Police, Lloyds, Consignia and the MOD to name but a few.
Alan is a keen amateur singer and performs regularly, accompanying himself on the celtic harp or mandolin. Alan has three daughters and lives in London.
