In 2004, Q. Learning was asked by the Local Government Leadership Centre to create a way in which leadership styles could be measured across Local Authorities. In conjunction with SOLACE, Q. Learning created the Leadership Diagnostic Tool. As the tool has evolved, it has been used across many industries, including Local Government, Health, Housing, and also across different companies in the private sector. In November, the 1000th leader completed the Leadership Diagnostic Tool. This was a fantastic milestone for Q. Learning, as it symbolised the success of the tool, and the achievement it has had in reaching such a range of leaders.
The 1000th leader was David Wherrett, HR and Organisational Development Director at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. The tool is currently being rolled out to his team and will be followed by one to one feedback with Q. Learning in early 2009.
So what can you expect once completing the tool? The feedback can range from being a powerful affirmation of your leadership style, through to pinpoint analysis of how you can improve as a leader. Donnova Kaye, Head of Systems and Support at Q. Learning said; “The purpose of the LDT is to promote excellence and provide feedback in areas where the leader is already strong and also in areas where the leader would like to develop. It is a very user friendly process with a great interface.”
Using the results, Q. Learning is not only equipped to help leaders with their personal development, it also enables the design of bespoke programmes for the client.
