The Nuffield Orthopedic Centre NHS Trust (NOC), in Oxford recently received their Investors in People report and the ‘GREAT Leaders’ programme which Q. Learning designed and delivered was highlighted in the good practice section… “People were complimentary about the learning and development opportunities available – most said there were more opportunities now, and many said that the support for managers has improved with management development programmes (GREAT Leaders’) being available.”
The GREAT (Great Role Models with Exemplary Attitudes and Talent) programme was designed to meet the Chief Executive’s expectation for Leaders in the Trust to develop themselves from good to GREAT.
The Trust goals for the programme were to be able to build an infrastructure of leadership and capability, to develop a leadership culture that not only is accountable and responsible but nurtures, leverages and retains leadership talent.
Bev Edgar, HR Director said, “Every one talks about the importance of leadership. The GREAT Leaders’ programme developed by the NOC and Q Learning helped us to really understand the impact of good communication. These programmes developed greater understanding of how effective managers can be in meetings, conducting appraisals and managing staff well-being. GREAT Leaders’ introduced coaching to the NOC and has nurtured much better understanding of behaviours. GREAT Leaders at the NOC are now demonstrating Leadership with a Purpose.”
